Paradise!”
Rajabori Resort is located on a beautiful island off the town of Kratie. It is the perfect off-the-beaten-track spot for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the modern lifestyle! The traditional Khmer bungalows are redolent of a glorious past and ooze quaint charm. They truly bring you to another time dimension with their beautiful antique furniture. Food is delicious and offers Asian and Western options. The pool is big and relaxing. The staff are friendly and highly efficient. Five stars!

Great respite from the tourist hubbub. ”
i came to stay at sala bungalows kind of by accident through agoda. i needed a place to days before my scheduled arrival at a hotel in kratie. the hotel was special for me but it is definitely not for everyone. there is no tv/radio, no air conditioning, no nets on the windows (though there is one over the bed). the antique furniture and decorations make each bungalow special. breakfast is served in the small restaurant, but is not included which is silly because there is nowhere else to eat in the vacinity. the evening menu is more extensive than one would expect given the hotel's location. the two evening meals i had there were delicious. the hotel staff are eager to please and enjoy informing visitors about their island home. koh trong has a different feel from its neighbor, kratie. nights are very quiet. if you need an active nightlife in your day, sala bungalows is not for you. you have to take a ferry to get to koh trong and sala bungalows and that is part of it's charm. with no autos on the island, you can higher a bike and peddle your heart out without fear of being run down. friendly farmers and a small floating village at the southwest corner of the island make for interesting, relaxed viewing. don't miss the bats at dusk!

Unique hotel, Eco friendly”
i didn't realize there was no hot water and solar energy, but loved it! i also didn't know it would be on a small island across from the town of kratie, accessible only by ferry. although that all sounds a bit difficult, it was one of my favorite places during my trip to cambodia and definitely different then staying in town, which i had done in phnom penh and siem reap. highly recommend for those looking for a different and relaxing experience.

Stunning”
A return trip to the villas after 6.5 years- it was only being built and none of what is now available. A stunning place- the rooms are wonderful and the gardens are glorious- as is the pool. In paradise with a boutique price I expected the service to be better and the food to reflect a Khmer palette rather than French. We had great service from one man but the others seemed distracted by their phones. If it is to compared to The Pavilion and Tea House as part of the group then it needs to lift its game. The island is a delight and well worth a visit. $5 gets you a day by the best pool... beautiful.

Great peaceful island retreat”
loved our stay on this beautiful, quiet and peaceful island in the mekong. arrived late so missed last ferry over but hotel arranged meet from bus, boat over the river them motos to the villas. all this in total darkness - very exciting! we were upgraded to a very nice suite with a huge bath and lots of deal wood furniture. the staff were really helpful and made us feel quite at home. rented bikes for a wonderful 9km ride around the island path - so nice we did it twice !

It is what it is”
Stayed 1 night 18 Aug 13 in a junior suite upgraded from a double deluxe. We crossed to the island on a private boat rather than using the ferry as advised. To achieve this we left our luggage with our driver in Kratie and only took the items we needed for the night. This meant that the private boat could take us right to the island bank close to the villas. This avoided using the public ferry and then having to travel 3km to the villas. The staff are friendly, helpful, well trained and have good English. The villas have no power during the day. The generator starts at 6pm. The rooms have no frigs or air conditioning and have adequate furnishings with a comfortable sitting area outside the front door. The pool good and large. The restaurant is limited in choice, a bit expensive but the food is OK. Breakfast from the menu was acceptable. The villas are what they are and don’t pretend to be anything else - worth the visit. Rating 7 out of 10.

Paradise on an island lost in time ”
The staff were so kind and helpful The villas were beautifully decorated simply and with style and with Cambodian art The only little complaint is the pool wasn't kept clean in the edges inside the pool but everything was very nice and we loved roaming the island and relaxing in our villa

Rajabori Villas”
we stayed for a few nights with 2 children aged 8 and 10. Rooms are beautiful and the staff super friendly. The food was excellent and a good variety (not a huge amount for vegetarians like myself but perfectly adequate.) we borrowed bikes which had seen better days but the cycle path is so easy, it didn't matter. Did a wonderful kayaking trip with Mr Lucky to see the dolphins, recommended by the hotel staff.

Exceptional”
The lovely staff here made us most welcome and looked after us well during our two night stay. We loved the location on Koh Trong - a truly rural backwater - and the adventure of getting to the hotel by ferry, motorbike and tuk tuk. Set amidst pretty gardens it’s a peaceful place to stay although some music did waft over from the town - after all it was a Saturday night! We loved swimming in the large pool. Breakfast was good although the food generally was a bit hit and miss. Overall, a great place to stay and would recommend.

Lovely hotel but how to get there”
Because of getting rather lost, we arrived in Kratie later than expected - at 8.30 pm. We tried calling the hotel in advance to inform them of our late arrival; however, I could not find the hotel telephone number anywhere on their website online. So, I couldn't call them.... As getting to the hotel involved a boat ride across the river, we wanted to call them to find out if this was possible so late in the evening. Because we couldn't get through; we ended up staying in another hotel in Kratie. Disappointing as we really wanted to stay at Rajabori.

such a relaxing place”
i had a wonderful stay , although not their are no roads on the island so if you travel by car you will need to catch the ferry then a tuk tuk to the hotel , great food however no other options close by as the Hotel is rather remote , not a bad thing

Excellent Place !!”
They gave us a free upgrade to the biggest Two-bedroom Family Bungalow which is so unforgettable. Free pick and drop for the Ferry terminal and Car park was available at the boat terminal easily (2.5 USD per night). We traveled on our own for the dolphin tour which was ofcourse the highlight of the tour. Overall it was an excellent weekend get away from Phnom Penh. Highly recommended.

Hard to reach”
A great relaxing place to get away from it all - but with that comes the fact that it's difficult to fine and to reach (esp if one arrives in Kratie, in the evening).

hotel in the wild”
Good experience in the wild with a 4-star hotel comfort. Experienced a massive thunderstorm at night, with tiny drops of water leaking through the roof onto us. No air-con. Food good.

Great location, poor value for money”
We were disappointed at the poor value-for-money, including the fact that the hotel did not include breakfast though we paid a handsome price for the hotel. First, it was difficult to get to the hotel due to heavy rains and uncooperative moto drivers. Hotel really should have a dedicated service to picking up its clients given the remote-ness of the location! It was expensive and definitely not worth the price. There were a couple of new bungalows under construction and the whine of chain-saws and equipment shattered the peacefulness. The rooms were quite musty - the sheets/bed smelled quite strongly of mildew and this was rather unpleasant. Also, the swimming pool was not functional and that was a key reason we chose this hotel. That fact should have been posted on the website. The food quality was quite mediocre: too much onion in everything we ordered. The coffee was poor quality too.

Beautiful but dark”
Quite an especial and beautiful (although impractical) location. The place is done with exquisite taste, but it would benefit if had better hot water and better lighting, as it is really dark inside the rooms. Restaurant is quite nice and good food
