The management, and Staff in all areas of the hotel were always conscious of making you feel at home. Location is minutes away to multiple restaurants. The staff’s caring and serving attitude was exceptional! We hired Kyle Ye Aung (09-451000673) in Mandalay to show us Mandalay for 3 days & then took us to Bagan. Kyaw drove us around to see all the major Pagodas, including Mt Popa in 4 days in Bagan. I highly recommend Kyaw as your personal taxi driver as well! Back to the hotel. Morning Breakfasts were delicious with extensive menus to serve people’s pallets worldwide! Hotel Guests will never want to leave once they check in at the Ananta Bagan Hotel!

I often travel to Mandalay for business and I have stayed in several hotels including Sedona hotel. This is the best hotel in Mandalay and their provide excellence service and staffs are very attentive. When I was very sick at mid night, the front office staff went out to buy the medicine. Especially, I would like to thanks to Ms. Than Than Aye who have provided the best service, she is very kind and helpful. I would definitely return to this hotel and I have booked for my next month trip as well.

I have stayed in hotels all around Myanmar having lived and worked in the country for 4 years. The Link 78 in Mandalay is by far the best all round hotel I have stayed in. This is intriguing because it's far from the most expensive. It's what you would say is 'mid-range' in terms of price. However the quality of the rooms, the service, and especially the food, is simply the best in Myanmar I have experienced. It's worth visiting the restaurant on the top floor even if you are not staying int he hotel, the food is truly first class and not at all expensive. In the past 4 years I have stayed in about 15 different hotels in Mandalay. Over the past 6 months it has been the same hotel each time and I cannot see myself staying anywhere else. Well done to the Link 78 Mandalay - as a business traveller, you are the first hotel in Myanmar that has truly satisfied me and achieved international standards.

This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our Myanmar travel about, in late November, early December, but it was worth it to us. We chose the most expensive rooms as well, with a river view, facing spectacular sunsets. Staff were very friendly and even if their English was hesitant, they tried their best to look after guests. Could not ask for better service. The hotel is located in the Old Bagan pagoda park, next to the museum. Food service, particularly buffet breakfast, were very welcome after our more adventurous tastings around Myanmar at Inle/Inlay, Mandalay and Yangon. Compared to other SE Asian countries (esp Thailand and Vietnam), Myanmar is not a foodie place. There are regional specialities such as the ferocious Rakhine dishes and the flavoursome Shan noodles. Order "medium" heat for safety, but also the oil based chili and garlic side sauce to pump up the spice of required. River prawns and fish seem to be overcooked wherever we found them. As the guidebooks say, the Bagan Thande is for the splurge.

Great choice. First thing - swimming pool! With over 40 celsius degrees in Bagan it was a real salvation during exploration of the area (we were taking a break at noon to avoid the hottest sun) as well as during hot evenings. What more to say - there is a bar so what can be better after a long, very hot day than sitting at the pool with a pint of a cold beer? Second - E-Bikes, as you might be aware foreigners are not allowed to rent motorbikes in Bagan area. Cycling is not the best option with these temperatures and renting taxis/horse-cars for me personally is the worst option there as you will not get off the main roads. Zfreeti Hotel came up with the best option possible so far - Electronic Bikes. You can rent them for not much more then normal bikes. You can easily ride it as a couple. However be careful as the power will not last for a whole day. But hey... you have a pool and you can come back after few hours to recharge your E-Bike. Great solution! 3rd thing that I would like to recommend this hotel for is breakfast - big, tasty, served early morning so you can get a lot of energy for a long day and set off around 6am for exploring the area. OK... few words regarding hotel itself - very clean, very good WiFi (as per Myanmar standards), fridge, AC, free water, hairdryer (hmmm who needs it with these temperatures?), generally well equipped bathroom. Staff - very friendly and helpful! We had really big problems with getting out of Bagan due to water festival. Ladies at the reception checked for us all the possibilities and finally found some seats in a bus to Mandalay! Location - hotel is based out of the centre of Nyuang-U however there is plenty of small restaurants very close by. Summary - it's worth every penny as I don't think you will find any other hotel in Bagan area with swimming pool! It will give you a relief from the heat. 2 minutes walk from bus station. Highly recommended! I would definitely stay there back again! .

It was definitely a great choice for Bagan. We arrived at the bus station at 4:30AM, and got angry at the taxi drivers over there who was very noisy, and rude - but they were doing their jobs, thats acceptable though. They drove us to the hotel, not forgetting to say sentences that were written somewhere that they often say: "I can show you some good hotels. Your hotel maybe closed at the moment, or too far away!" As soon as the taxi stopped at the hotel's front, our anger immediately faded away with the hotel staff coming over (actually they were just woken up by us!), and welcomed us. They immediately checked us in our booked room half a day earlier than the actual booking, WITHOUT us asking them to do so, and of course, no additional charge. And we got an extra breakfast as complimentary. Great, inn'it? The hotel located further away from town, so its quiet, and peaceful with a rooftop dining for breakfast - where you can get some sunrise and watch the hot air balloon. We dont mind travel distance from this place to the restaurant row (where we can find some good dining places and a bit of night life happenstances!). The staff has given us careful traveling notes by a super friendly and lovely attitude & professionalism, helped book a horse cart for Bagan temple touring, helped book a bus ticker to Mandalay at 11PM for a 7AM departure the day after, offered an FOC half day ride of ebike as a welcome gift. We ended up with one extra night staying at this hotel. Happy and highly recommended. Thank you to every staff member.

There is nothing to complain at all with Amazing Bagan Resort. After a disappointing stay at a Mandalay Hotel at almost the same rate of nearly 80 US-Dollars, we came to the Amazing Bagan Resort to find it located amidst a historical ground, nicely built, two storeys maximum. A bit remote from all action, but near to the airport and close to all the historical locations of Bagan, we had a perfect time there, when we returned from our daytrips. Room was big, aircon quiet (alhough you hardly need aircon in January, as it´s pretty chilly at night), superbe breakfast, good foof in the evenings (don´t miss the menus offered). The pool is well maintained, nice and clean with bar service. Local music in the morning, puppet theatre in the evening. friendly and service orientated staff makes Amazing Bagan Resort to a great place to stay ! See you next time. Greetings from Germany !

Bagan King is a newer boutique hotel in downtown Mandalay. The location is very central for many of the tourist sights and restaurants that one would want to visit in Mandalay. The breakfast was good, although not the best that we had while in Burma. We liked that the hotel provided free bikes for guests to tool around town. I was surprised that there wasn't a pool there, given how hot and stuffy Mandalay can be. The staff were nice and we were provided wet towels and a welcome drink upon arrival. Everything was perfectly nice and serviceable, but nothing stood out as spectacular. Nonetheless, a nice, reasonably priced hotel in the center of the city.

Brilliant hotel in Mandalay with good English speaking staff. Staff go out of there way to help and assist you with all your needs and queries. Hotel is down a small alleyway but there are staff on the main road all day waiting for any drop offs/pick ups and they carry your bags. As mentioned before hotel has no escalator but bags are carried up and down for you. Hotel is very clean.....the only negative I could point out was bed sheets smelt abit musty. Hotel arranged a driver tour for the day for me and also my onward bus travel to Bagan with hotel pick up and drop off at destination for reasonable price. Breakfast was good.....what seems to be the standard in Myanmar...tea, coffee, fresh juices, eggs (cooked to your choice) hot food such as noddles etc and various bread options. the hotel also recommend various restaurant which are nearby.....I can recommended the local BBQ restaurant on the street just opposite - fabulous fresh food and not to worry about hygiene as it is all cooked there in front of you. I also tried the Thai restaurant (Thai Mhat? I think) that the hotel recommended.....best meal I had in all of Myanmar....reasonably priced, nice air con surroundings, good service and of course a fabulous meal. All in all I would recommend you to stay in during your time in Mandalay and it was also great value for money.

Staff helped us arrange the bus service directly from the hotel to Mandalay city. When we needed an e-bike rental at 5am in the morning got catch the sunrise, one of the hotel's staff helped us make contact with the rental guys in the wee hours. Super prompt, friendly and attentive service staff. Rooms were comfortable, well designed and very clean. Excellent location with e-bike rental just right outside (same side of the street). Power outages are expected in Bagan at night.

We travelled a lot through Myanmar always choosing "low budget hotels" in turns with "luxury hotels" . So After staying in w low budget hotel in Mandalay, we treated ourselves to a great hotel in bagan. Room was big, beautiful and very lovely decorated. Of course this included fully working air conditioning and wifi. Bathroom was big as well and the shower was very modern. Food was very good. The only downside was that there doing some work on the pool- so we couldn't use it. How ever it was raining anyway in began - so no real loss ;)

Great location within train station and city center so convenient to reach any place. Clean room and friendly staff. One of staff Thomas who speak very good English and help lots. You can ask questions about local restaurants, sightseeing, money exchange etc. he is so kind to help out and give detailed recommendations. As a first time visitor in mandalay, his friendly and kind do let me feel like home. In terms of cost with hotel Marvel provided, it is far worth the value. I definitely will stay next time in Mandalay. The downside it is closed to train station so there may be some noise from trains. However it is not much and didn’t bother me at all. The room and hotel is still very quite and comfortable. I sleep well without problem. The internet speed in hotel is a little slow so I would suggest to increase.

a very brand new hotel which is very clean, big room, and great service. Location is ok. Though it's not in the middle of downtown but you can find some small restaurants and the mini mart on the opposite side of the hotel in the walking distance. And as Myanmar's transportation is not convenience that you have to travel around by taxi, staying here is good because it's not busy compares to those hotels in downtown. Also all the staffs are going beyond their duty, they provide us exceptional services. They helped us plan our trips in Mandalay and book the taxi to travel around and a bus to Bagan with a fair price. They also gave us lots of info about the places' admission fee, the boat fee, the taxi to near by cities, etc. Breakfast was ok. There are hot food which most of them are Myanmar dish. (if you expect omelette, scramble egg, or sunny side up, they don't have that style) Overall is great, will definitely stay here again

O found this place by accident and expected nothing. But when I entered my room I fell in love. This hotel is in a green and quiet area near Mandalay Hill and some other top sights. You can walk by feet around and explore another face of Mandalay. I enjoyed it so much.. The palace is only a 15min walk away. Nice neighbourhood. My favourite place to be in Mandalay. I regret to stay only for two nights. Super furnished room. Super clean. Not smelly. Great breakfast. The pool is super. Always clean. The staff is a bit more special than in other hotels because they all have a glow. I am in love with this Hotel and if you want a quiet place after busy sightseeing and noisy Mandalay, this is your place.

We booked 2 nights at this resort hotel. We love it when we stepped into the hotel lobby. It is a small yet nice hotel resort overlooking some remnant Pagodas right in front of the hotel. A beautiful Swimming pool and restaurant with garden overlooking some Pagodas at the archeological site. Many choice of good Burmese food within walking distance from hotel resort, such as Star Beam, Seven Sisters, Kyaw Kitchen and La Min Thit restaurants. There is a roof top for sunset and sunrise view. Hotel room and bathroom are clean and housekeeping was very prompt to clean and tidy up room. Breakfast was good and adequate to start for the day which staff prepared breakfast box for us upon request on our last day for early checkout. Hotel provides taxi and horse cart service arrangement which the charge is quite standard and universal. Staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Special thanks to a front desk staff named Ei Ei who went extra mile to help us calling and coordinate with our Balloon flight operator, plus sorting out issue of our transport options between horse cart and taxi arrangement according to our plans to visit the archeological sites. Highly recommended for the excellent service, good location and facilities.

We booked 3 nights in this hotel and we do not regret ! The prices on agoda made our stay quite cheap and compared to other places that we saw while visiting, Yadanarbon hotel is a very good compromise ! 5 minutes walk to center new bagan, a lovely swimming pool that stayed fresh even during the permanent 45° outside and especially a lovely staff ! Indeed my boyfriend forgot his wallet in the taxi to the airport and the manager immediately send us an email to arrange the transport of the wallet to our hotel in Mandalay. Also they were very arranging during the water festival when things get more complicated than usual. The rooms were small but comfortable, it's true that the walls are thin but overall we really enjoyed our stay !

Online booking offered airport transportation for $21 from the airport to the hotel, which is a total ripe off considering the hotel is like 15 min walking distance from the airport and the hotel offered us free car back to the airport the second day. This should be revised on the booking site as it is clearly a deterrent and may have a negative impact on booking this amazing hotel!!! Also, the timing we booked made it so the transport company did not receive the booking in time and so we had to call the transport company so that they send us a car. Otherwise we had an amazing experience and the hotel, food, staff, atmosphere, everything was indeed amazing! :)

After having stayed the previous night in a nearby hotel that held similar ratings we were absolutely delighted to be spending a further two nights at this hotel. There may be other hotels in the area that come with a five star rating but why waste your money. Everything here is five star. Front staff are warm and welcoming, housekeeping do a fantastic job and nothing is too much trouble. Even though my wife is Burmese, language is not an issue for me either. Staff speak good English, same can be said for most places in Bagan, much better than Yangon. This hotel has a gorgeous pool and worth a visit in the early evening, peaceful and a great way to end the day. Haven’t had breakfast here yet, saving that for tomorrow, but I’m certain it will be of the same standard. Do also take a visit to the 7 Sisters restaurant, the massamam curry is to die for. So to is their Myanmar Golden Curry, the chef is fantastic. EBikes can be arranged very easily and are cheap. Bon Voyage. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one.

I spent a week in Pyin oo Lwin and this has been one of my most enjoyable traveling experiences ever. This hotel is magnificent; the rooms are huge , very comfortable and beautifully designed. I stayed in this wonderful city because I could not find a hotel in Mandalay, and I enjoyed it much more than staying in a big city. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only weak point is the quelity of the restaurant food and its excessive prices; there are plenty of good places to eath in town.

Honestly, I didn't expect to stay in a modern & clean hotel in Mandalay. This hotel has exceeded all my expectations for a boutique hotel. The room size is not big but it is cosy & comfortable with modern designs. The toilet was very clean. The mini fridge has a see-through glass door which was cool with very affordable drinks. The room comes with 4 vacant international wall plugs which was very convenient. Overall, I would come here to stay again when I come back to Mandalay.

We did not have high expectations of Mandalay but in the end of 4 days, expectations well and truly surpassed and partly due to having a very good place to stay. One of the best places we stayed in even though price was less than other hotels in Myammar. Staff helped us with local transport and finding a motorbike to rent at a reasonable rate to visit Sagieng and Ubin Bridge and places outside Mandalay city. We used the free bikes provided by the hotel 2 days to get around the city. They told us prices to expect to be charged for distances travelled. Breakfast was good with a range of Asian and Western food and fruit. Better than most places we stayed in in Myanmar. Very close to Nepali restaurant called Thinns (no name outside) on 28th between 79th and 80th which had delicious briyanis till sold out and in the evenings has prathas and chapatis for a minuscule price. Lots of local people eating there and drinking tea after about 7pm till late. It would not be an ideal location if you wanted to eat at the more tourist-friendly restaurants on about 77th St unless you were willing to walk or ride bikes. On arrival, hotel provided a pickup service where the Air Asia bus arrived-which was great to avoid being hassled by the Air Asia agent on the bus who kept offering overpriced taxis run by his friends/relatives or when you get off the bus. Hotel booked a bus for us for our next destination which picked us up at the hotel and delivered us to our hotel in Bagan. Very satisfied with stay.

My friend and I had a great time in Mandalay, and a big part of that was because of the amazing Hilton staff. It isn't an exaggeration to say I've never had a more attentive bar staff in my life, anywhere. It was almost comical how quickly an empty drink would be attended. A front desk manager even invited us out to a local pool party after work, even taking us out for some beers at a local bar. He made it a really local experience and just a fantastic overall time. I highly recommend anyone going to Mandalay and looking for a 5 star experience to choose this hotel.

The staff is very friendy and will do whatever they can to make sure your stay is comfortable. They helped us book transportation for the daytrips to the temples of Bagan and book our transport to Mandalay when we left. They are very generous with bugspray in the rooms. The restaurant is ok for dinner and breakfast is also quite good. The only thing is that it was located in the outskirts of New Bagan so it wasn't very natural to walk into town for dinner in the evenings. The pool has probably not been cleaned for a very long time. Overall a good experience!
