It was a splendid place to stay. But yes, it made me a little lazy to go out and work. Even a standard room is spacious and nice layout with bathroom ensuite and well-equipped. Thanks for a well-thought management putting mosquito net inside bathroom so we can leave glass window open and no mosquito visit. Food is slightly bland for my taste sense which had been destroyed by MSG. However, it was tasty enough that I enjoyed. Reception counter staff are generous and attentive. Since we booked a standard room through Agoda. When we arrived and they treated us very well. We got a nice standard room amidst garden, flowers bed, and calm location. This may not happen if we book ourselves. So, Thanks to Agoda service too.

I'm a solo 30 year old backpacker who booked a night here to take a half day tour of Bodhi Tataung & Thanboddhay. Got a single room, it was clean and stocked with water & soda. Right next to a fun night market and has a good buffet breakfast on the rooftop. Hotel staff is helpful and very kind. I'd normally stay in a hostel but there wasn't one available in Monywa, so this was a nice (if costlier) alternative.

Turns out that they were walking distance from the first stop my bus made before the main station. The room was one of the best values, clean big, super comfy and spotless and very welcome after staying in a poor government hotel the city before. Very helpful staff. They recommended a restaurant not in the guide books and it was perfect, excellent food and cheap !I had to leave very early in the morning and prepared a take away breakfast for me. As it turned out they let me into the restaurant 15 min before it opened so I could have a proper breakfast. The food was great. Would definitely stay again

For budget travel you cannot go wrong here! It's a little out of the centre of the town but the staff are kind and helpful, the rooms with bed linen are clean and tidy. It might be considered old fashioned and in need of a coat of paint but I much prefer the service and price I currently receive plus the complimentary tea & coffee and the included delicious and very ample breakfast to fancy paintwork. I stayed for longer than I had anticipated in the town due to personal travel issues and then the start of the New Year Water Festival and I was more than comfortable to remain in Hotel Ba Thaung for that time, feeling that I had the best deal in all ways. If you are traveling to Monywa I highly recommend you stay here!

The Jade Royal Hotel was the perfect place to stay before our trip around Chin state. We received excellent service and the hotel manager was extremely responsive to our requirements and as a result we had a very comfortable stay. If you are to stay in Monyuwa, I would thoroughly recomend that you stay here. The only issue is that it is not central and if you want to see Monyuwa, a taxi is required. However I am sure the reception would be pleased to arrange this for you. Enjoy the swimming pool!

in katha, there are not many choices for accommodation, but nevertheless we were very pleased with sein hotel and their services. the manager had a good english so the communication was easy and the staff was very friendly too. the location is close to the jetty for the ferry to bhamo which was very convenient. the restaurant run by the same sein family was exceptional- one of the best chinese meal we ever had!

After 4 days scouring Katha for the best bar and restaurant in town, found it to be here at Hotel Katha! Even with a band some nights! Not much else in this town to see or do. If following after Eric Blair (Aka George​ Orwell) be sure to visit the Club, (5min walk), from Burmese Days, during work hours. Visiters book in the office. Then check out the old Billyards room below after 4pm. Full of kids studying! None spoke English. Sad to say the two most famous of Eric's books are on the "Banned To Translate" list.

The hotel grounds are very nice, the staff are lovely and extremely helpful. They booked our bus tickets for us without taking and commission. Breakfast was delicious with alot of choice. The room was lovely and comfortable. The only letdown was the broken shower, water was constantly dripping from the shower head onto the floor. We told the staff, they looked at it, didn't know what to do and just left it like that. That was a shame. Still recommend and would come back. A nice restaurant at the end of the street and scooter rental 5 minute walk away.

We stayed at Sein Nan Daw for one night only. Staff was extraordinary helpful. We arrived on the 11th of January 2018 around noon. The staff warmly welcomed us with an orange juice and a fruits plate. They immediately took our bags to our room. Pay attention, you have to pay in Kyats as they do not accept visa nor MasterCard. We visited the Po Win Daung Caves and the staff kindly proposed to order a tuktuk for our afternoon. We paid 35.000 kyats for two ways (down to the caves which are at 1 hour road from Monywa and return to the hotel). It took us the whole afternoon. Caves are really impressive and lovely. The staff advised us the restaurant for the dinner and made our bus booking to Bagan on the next morning for 3000 kyats per pax. When we returned from our dinner they took our order for the breakfast which was like a whole buffet on our table (noodle soup, fried noodles, toasts, jam and butter, coffee and orange juice). It was delicious. For the morning they ordered the same tuktuk’s driver as the one we took for visiting the caves and we visited the 2 big Buddha’s and the Thanbodday Pagoda. The driver was waiting the whole time and was very nice. We paid 15000 kyats for the entire morning. After our visit the driver has dropped us off to the bus station and waited that our bus starts direction Bagan. In two words, it was a lovely experience in this little town barely unknown from tourists and I highly recommend you this hotel for your stay at Monywa!
