excellent hotel rooms amazing staff and food”

rooms price staff and everything about the atmosphere. it was so relaxing

What an amazing place!! My room was totally outstanding....hot water in a huge bathroom...a beautiful veranda to sit out on. My bed was really comfortable. A warm welcome from the staff. My breakfast was very fulfilling. .fried rice with fried egg and toast butter and jam with lipton tea! I didnt need to think about good until lunch! The restaurant is so chilled out and designed in such a cool way. Hotel is located just outside of town (10 minute walk from bus drop off). Its also 5 minutes walk from the golden rock truck stop. I had a lovely club sandwich for lunch and an amazing burger and fries for dinner! The big thing about the restaurant which appealed to me was the draft beer!! Just what I needed after a hot day out at the golden rock. The staff were so attentive and arranged my bus trip for my onward journey. The grounds of the hotel are sooo relaxing with trees and gardens and I felt like I was in a resort in the carribean! I would recommend this hotel 100% and I had np problems whatsoever. If your leaving early in the morning for onward travel wear a jersey as its a little bit cold in the mornings. This hotel has the feeling of a family hotel. I was kinda at odds as to what to do after dinner so took a walk and had tea in a tea shop and stumbled across an indoor fun fair called "Smileworld" cheesy but fun with a ferris wheel...dodgems..video games..haunted spooky house! Passed the time. The village has various shops for souvenirs and food and is very close to the hotel. Overall I had an amazing experience at lotus away from the craziness of myanmar. Thanks to all the staff and hope to see you again!

Super friendly staff, very clean room!”

We arrived very early in the morning with a night bus and we could check in straight away in another room, because our was still ocupied, and get some good sleep. Didnt even had to pay more for that! Super friendly and we were of course super glad. Our room was super clean, big and nice! (one of the cleanest rooms ive stayed while travelling in asia for this price!) Its a little away from the center but totaly in walking distance. I would defenitly reccomend this hotel!

Excellent place to stay”

Friendly and helpfull staff. Excellent tasty food at the restaurant at good prices, and the breakfast was delicious compared to the traditional white toasts and cold eggs of most budget hotels in Myanmar. Cheap cold beer in frosted mugs at the restaurant/bar, clean room with hot water and A/C, and one of the cheaper prices around. Recommended

perfect location for the Golden Rock”

This was the best value in the area & we were very happy with our stay. It is walking distance to the van that takes you up to the Golden Rock & the hotel is in a nice setting. Basic rooms but clean & cool aircon. Everything you need. Veranda to relax on outside the room. Breakfast of hot drink fried egg & toast included and starts early which is good if you wish go to the rock early in the morning. The owner is friendly, helpful & welcoming. We would stay here again

thumbs up!!”

We spent 3 nights in total. The first two nights in a budget room and the third night the hotel decided to upgraded our room for the same price, which was appreciated. The location is perfect to move around and close to 19th street (BBQ, street food etc.). The staff was very nice and tried to help us anytime. Conclusion, this is the place to stay if you visit Yangon & if you like good coffee in the morning ;-)

Great for Short Break”

Great Service and Location

We came for a short weekend break to visit the Golden Rock. We chose this hotel because it is in between the station (15 minutes walk) for mandatory truck transport and the base checkpoint (5 minutes drive) making it easier for us to be dropped off on return journey. Our lovely chalet type bungalow in the hotel grounds reminded us of Balinese style lighting, private space and relaxing comfort. We had a mini-fridge and multi-plug socket n our bright and cool room. The ensuite tiled bathroom - toiletries, bathtub and hot shower - .was big and spanking clean. All guest requests were quickly fulfilled with smiles which can only invoke happiness in guests. The extra bed provided was as, if not more comfortable, than the two thick spring beds already in the room. Breakfast was generous. The European general managers, Merlyn and Francya, were simply wonderful in their warm welcoming gestures and sincere advice for foreign guests.

Decent one night stay”

We stayed for one night while visiting the golden temple. Room was ok, ac worked fine, cleanliness could have been improved. Grounds and potential are very good, but seems to be lacking. Staff was helpful in booking bus tickets. Property had a pool, but didn’t have time to use it. At at the restaurant and that was the highlight of the stay. Reasonable prices and delicious food. Restaurant manager was very nice and accommodating. Hotel is about .5 mile from bus station in Kin Pun.

Staff was more than friendly.. Went out of the way to make sure the stay was a great experience.”

Staff. 100% the first room had some deficiencies that were needing more attention than what could have been provided, were quickly put into a different room that was working nicely.. The staff alone made this a hotel that I would stay at again and easily recommend to those wanting to stay close at a cheap rate.

Tripple room”

First the 3 of us stayed in 2 seperate twin bed bungalows. They seemed a bit old, with the bathroom doors not closing properly, a bit musty smelling and moscitos coming in through some cracks. The tripple room we stayed in last was great. It was one of the newer buildings I believe. The floor was a bit slippery but as long as you walk carefully you should be fine. They got a restaurant, a pool table, hair driers (you need to ask for them) and other facilities. Laundry service is available too but be aware to bring enough time since in the rainy season you have to wait longer for the washing to dry. They might not tell you so ask them upfront. The staff was super friendly and the walk into town only 5-10min. All in total it was an okay experience.

Brief stay here, not bad”

This place is by itself, further down the main road and away from the town activity. If you're walking from the win bus stop it is about 10 minutes and you can't miss the bright orange structures. It looks nice from the outside, the rooms aren't so much that way but still decent. Seem short staffed but the employees that are there are great. Close to the truck stop and you have a nice view of the mountain at night. Borderline pricy for the solo traveler but still much more affordable than staying on the mountain itself. Only stayed for a night so I didn't have a chance to look at other smaller guesthouses but there are plenty of options available. The town nearby seems busy and fun to explore, definitely a friendly place for foreigners.

good location, good room, friendly but inefficient staff and a dreadfull guy serving in the restaurant”

The location is really good. The room is fine for the price. We got a free upgrade, so we were lucky. Most of the staff were really friendly, but not very effective. We asked to fix a light, to clean the room and for some water and to all requests they said they would arrange it, but nothing was done -:) Not a big problem though. We were however really annoyed by the guy that was serving in the restaurant. He was lazy, bossing the others around, very unattentive. He would not notice you, if he tripped over you. It is ok if not everyhing is organised, when the people are friendly and trying to do their best. It is not fine when someone is arrogant and rude and unwilling. We wonder how long they will keep this guy on. If it was up to us, he would be out in a heartbeat. It is too bad, because it somewhat shadowed a further nice stay

The hotel manager and staff were so nice and friendly. One of the male staff (forget the name) drove my Mum and me to the bus station where we could take a bus to Golden Rock mountain. Apart from the staff, I find the room dark although we turned on the lights and the toilet relatively unclean.

Great staff but dirty room”

The staff were absolutely wonderful, we came with our young son and they couldn't have been kinder. The room was a different story, very small and the bathroom looked like no one had cleaned it for weeks. There were lots of clumbs of hair and dirt everywhere. The resort has nice relaxing area's and a restaurant. The staff do their best and the food that we ordered was great, but out of our three day stay about 80 to 90% what was on the menu wasn't available.
