The rooms here are very nice, but unfortunately this doesn't make up for the fact that this hotel is in the middle of nowhere (definitely not at the foot of Mt K as it suggests!!) and is so poorly run. When we arrived they didnt't have our reservation and left us waiting for a long time while they frowned and discussed amongst themselves what to do about these strangers before them. We stayed there under the false impression that it was close to the Golden Rock, but we found out it was a 2 hour round trip to get there so we didn't even have time in the end! We didn't find this out through the hotel staff though, as none of them spoke one word of English, which made everything very difficult - even asking for toilet paper! Noone at the hotel had even heard of the Golden Rock and couldn't / didn't help us. The restaurant onsite has no prices on the menu so we were charged an extortionate 6000 chat for a tiny plate of prawns, after the waitress had told us everything was 1-2000. We asked them to book us a bus for the next day which, after much time and chirades, we thought was sorted, then the next day they tried to charge us double to what had been offered the day before, so we missed the bus. As I say, the rooms are nice, but there is really no reason to stay here unless you just want to have a stopover on the way to Yangon and are happy to not be understood or have any help!
