Exceptional”

New hostel with very good facilities. The host Shin and Nick is very friendly and can speak very good English. The room was big. Everything is just perfect except the location is little bit far from Hualien Station. If you want to rent a bike you can go to GIANT and can get at a discounted rate for Sleeping Boot guest. The shop just after Hualien Hospital same row with Sleeping Boot. You just need to walk about 1km.

I had a lot of fun staying at Sleeping Boot Hostel! I made new friends, including Becky, one of the staffs who's now my Facebook friend! :) The hostel's very warm and cozy and the staff are very friendly. I'll definitely stay here when I come back to Hualien!

Sleeping boots deserves more than 8.8”

Paul and the helpers are very nice and helpful in planning my travel. The atmosphere in hostel is very encouraging people to communicate with others and make some new friends. Definitely the first option for me when I visit Hualien again. Highly recommend all of you to visit sleeping boots.

Perfect place ”

This hostel gather the essence of a hostel: a good location, a clean space, a nice atmosphere to meet people, and staff giving a lot of ideas and clues to enjoy your travel. The hostel is 15 minutes from the train station. Everything is clean, for each bed you have a light and electric plugs, and you have lockers. And the most important: the staff is really kind and helpful. Thanks to Phong, Nick and Paul! This hostel is the place to be to fully enjoy the Taroko National Park and the area of Hualien.

This is my second stay. The host is still very nice and helpful! The hostel is clean and comfortable though you have to take about 15 minutes walk from the hualien station. You may only take 5 minutes to the main street of hualien, you can find food, clothing or other souvenir in the street. It is a nice hostel! I will definitely stay again in the future!

The hot showers! That's the first thing which came into my mind when reviewing this hostel. I had walked in the rain after flying in and taking the train from Taipei to Hualien and it was by dusk. The hot showers were very, very welcoming and the sheets were so comfy I fell asleep before 9pm! Friendly staff who showed me around using a map and everything else was just perfect. Thumbs up!

Great hostel”

I really loved this hostel. I would definitely stay here again when I come to Hualien again. Staffs are super friendly and fun, room and shower room are very clean. They have a big table at the first floor which is very nice to get along with other travelers. The night market is a little far like 20 mins walk but it's no problem.

我環島的旅程中住了這麼多背包客棧，就屬這間最合胃口，還因為太喜歡了而把之後的行程都推遲一天，只為了多住一晚。在這邊大家都很願意聊天，一樓的開放空間也設定的很好，讓大家會想待在那互相交流，特別是待在那張神奇桌子上。有付費的洗衣機和烘衣機真的很方便，特別是有時候下雨晾衣服根本晾不乾。床有點偏軟，會挑床的夥伴可能要考慮一下。其餘整潔，氛圍都很棒。 I have stayed in so many hostels in the journey travalig around the island and I love the sleeping boot backpacker the most. I love it so mich that I even postponed the following schedule just to stay one more night. Everyone here is very willing to chat, and the open space on the first floor is also very well set so that everyone will want to stay there and share their journey with each other. It is really convenient to have a washing machine and a dryer inside the hostel, especially when it is raining and the clothed could not be easily air dried. The mattress is a bit on the soft side so for traveler who is really picky about the mattress might have to think twice. Other than that, I give 10/10 for the facilities, tidiness and the great atmosphere.

Amazing Staff and Great Hostel”

The staff was amazing and very friendly. We had good conversations with everyone including Paul/Madeline. The hostel was very clean/spacious and I would recommend this hostel for anyone visiting Hualien.

Lovely place with great hospitality! ”

Nick is a wonderful and thoughtful host. He upgraded me from mixed to female dorm without being request or with any additional charges. Yayers! Upon arriving, Nick will explain all the to-go and to-eat at Hualien with a photocopied hand drawn map. He will be able to assist you with tour bookings & arrangements. :) Place is clean and cozy, equipped pretty much all the basic needs for travellers. Bed and blanket are superbly comfortable too. ;)

Everything you want”

The owner Nick makes sure you feel at home straight away. The place is clean and comfortable, good location for people coming in via train. Just stayed one night, but definetely coming back if heading back to Hualien. Home away from home

Excellent”

Great for solo travellers. Rooms are kept very clean and not overcrowded. Staff are a bunch of super friendly youngsters who are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the Hualien area.

Exceptional”

Awesome hostel. Comfortable dorm beds with curtains, free coffee/tea, laundry and really helpful staff. I ended up going to the gym with one of the guy's that worked there and it felt like I was more of a friend than just a guest staying at the hostel. The staff keeps the place super clean and it's easy to get around to all areas of the city.

Perfect hostel and amazing staff!”

Thank you, Paul and Madeline, who made my stay special! They took care of me each minute and helped me organizing my daytrips as well as my further travel plan. Got a really good impression of Taiwanese life and food thanks to them! The hostel is good located between train station and city center. It is a nice common area and very clean. Unfortunately there were not many travellers (as is true for whole Taiwan...), but with Paul and Madeline, that didn’t matter :) would definitely come back!!

Heartwarming boot hostel”

A very heartwarming hostel hosted by a bunch of friendly and passionate people. You guys will not find themselves having problems going around the city, as the crew members are always there to help. Do check this hostel out. Highly recommended.

Far but cheap.”

The staff are friendly and advised me on how to get to taroko gorge. Also, the bathroom is really spacious. However, this hostel is quite a walking distance to the train station and definitely need to take taxi/bicycle to the local night market. They have a discount for bicycle rental which is damn cheap and i cycled to the night market lol. I definitely recommend this place if you don't mind exercising a bit to get there.

Nice The staff（owner？？？) clean big bedroom”

It was a great experience and a good stay ! They have these Very nice and patient staff(owner????) ! The bedroom is almost the biggest hostel bedroom I ever stayed. They have sofa in their bedroom （few hostels have these ) and the bed is very comfortable . the bathrooms are all very clean! I didn't get to say goodbye to people from the hostel ( because I left very early in the morning) now I'm saying goodbye to you all and thank you all！

Contemporary Hostel..”

As my list of 3 best things says they have very comfy beds in superb contemporary hostel, good facilities in a great location away from the main downtown area. The staff are friendly and helpful even taking me to the laundrette when I couldn't find it BUT...... ......they have a NO Alchohol rule, just so you are warned when after a HOT days hiking in Taroko Gorge (35C & 100% humidity late June 2015) .and you want to relax with a cold one...you will have to frequent a local bar or drink it outside in the heat. It would be better if they advertised this rule in their description. it is a shame as even the lack of laundry facility didn't bother me that much!!!

I loved everything about this hostel. It is clean. The staff are very friendly. We even hung out together at the lounge and just chatted and ate a late night snack together. The location is central to everything you want to visit except for Taroko which is around an hour by motorbike. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and I really like the curtains. The bathrooms are a great size. Did I say everything is CLEAN? One last thing which is also very important, the bed sheets are SUPER COMFORTABLE.
