Your only budget option in Naypyidaw”
We spent two nights there, it’s a good budget option for Naypyidaw (which will be the most expensive portion of your trip in Myanmar, expect to pay more for everything) Pros - Nice breakfast buffet, water boiler in the room to avoid using plastic bottles, we could rent a scooter (4000k an hour, yes, it’s expensive yes), friendly staff. Helped arrange bus / taxi for onward travel. Cons - since the shower doesn’t have a way to air out the ceiling get moldy and smells strongly (rest of the shower is clean though). As excepted, the bathroom is outside the room, and it’s so bizarre. Location is really far from anything at all. (A few small shops and restaurants in walking distance to neighboring town). Overall, this place is the main budget option to stay in Nay Pyi Taw. Everything in Nay Pyi Taw is expensive, but accept that before coming here and you’ll enjoy your stay.

Good hotel”
We were looking for budget and this was the best price we could find in Nay Pyi Taw. Very good hotel if you go in with the right expectations - clean rooms, decent breakfast (Asian style) & we had a decent dinner. The hotel is a bit far from things but I think that's mostly how the city is - it is in Hotel District #1. The bathroom & shower being outside the room wasn't a problem for us - you get given a key to access them & they're private to you in a shower block just down the hallway from the room. Clean and plenty warm water.

Thank a lot for your recommend .
reasonable hotel given that it's in Nay Pyi Taw...”
I had a room in the normal hotel building here (not the big standalone houses on the "lake"), which was cheaper than other similar options in Nay Pyi Taw. Everything worked including the internet connection, and the place was clean enough, although build quality is poor. Nay Pyi Taw is a strange place; with this in mind it was a good hotel for the price for the two nights I stayed to attend a conference there.

Good budget option”
Let's be honest, there are not many budget options for international travelers in Nay Pyi Daw. Thankfully, Golden Lake Hotel offers just that. We only stayed one night but were satisfied with the basic, but clean rooms (separate bathroom) with breakfast included. We also really appreciated the motorbike rental service and super helpful staff that will go out of their way to make your stay easier.

The Golden Lake Hotel Review”
This is one of the new hotels put up in this very artificial city, Nay Pyi Taw, built for the convenience of the ruling elite. It is poorly built and a long way from anywhere. One has to get a cab to go to any of the shops or sights, such as they are. The staff are very friendly and helpful, which is a bonus. The rooms are clean and there is hot water in the communal shower. The restaurant is struggling to put in a good appearance and the food passable, just. The hotel is pushing it's credentials to say it is 3 star.

Great service, good price ”
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped me find a vehicle for the day, including negotiat ing a price and (as the driver had little English) explaining to (and writing down for) him where I needed to go. I would happily stay at Golden Lake again.

Too expensive for the value”
Rooms have shared bathroom which i usually would not expect in Myanmar for around 28$ a night. However, everything seems to be more expensive in Nay Pyi Taw than in the rest of Myanmar. I got a motorbike for the day for 25000 kyat (in Bagan 5000). when i returned it they wanted additional 8000 kyat because i used or for 10 hours and they said that "whole day" would mean 8 hours only!!

So effing weird”
For this city, this hotel is totally acceptable. But for any other place, this hotel is weird af. The beds were super comfortable, the aircon was very strong and the staff were helpful (i.e. picking us up by golf cart from our room to get to the lobby). Like everywhere else in the city, nobody was there, which was fine for us. The bathrooms are the weirdest part. The bathroom area is communal, but each room has their own private toilet room and their own private shower room (key required). Honestly, I went to Naypyitow to experience the closest thing to North Korea without actually going to North Korea and that is exactly what I got...this hotel included. I'm not going to lie though, I got a really good night's sleep. It's very quiet.

Go here for the experience, but bring plenty of musquito repellant ”
The setup with private bathrooms, but separated from the room by quite a bit, is strange. As is the fact that you are driven to the hotel building by golf carts, even though it's only 200 meters from the reception. The hotel is in the hotel area, which means far away from anything - even though a supermarket is 'only' about 4 km's away. They leave the windows of the rooms open until check in, which resulted in a lot of mosquitoes in the room. Breakfast is excellent, especially if you are not scared by rice and noodles at breakfast. They rent out motorbikes for 4000 an hour or 30000 per day; not particularly cheap, but driving around the city myself was the highlight of my stay there!

Better deals exist- get a pool”
Go north! I booked for 1 month but when I arrived I found much better deals in the north of Nawpyitaw (same distance to work). These have pools, gyms, bathrooms in the rooms, very fast wifi, etc. for the same price or a few dollars more. They are levels above for the same price. Golden Wall, Aye Chan Than, etc to name a few. They offer very good long term stays and will make deals with you once you arrive. And one note, while the facilities at Golden Lake Hotel were subpar (slow wifi, bad rooms, no views, etc) the staff are amazing and wonderful. Very kind and great people who will help you with anything.

Staffs are welcome and nice but need training for professional services”
I stayed at Golden Lake hotel at 03 nights. Staff are helpful and very welcome But at second night one of staff wrong open our room and got shock. My friend already got afraid and she have sensitive for night sleep. It is annoyed for us and she cannot sleep again the whole night. Kindly advise to hotel management will give to staffs more training for professional hotel services. But hotel staffs are helpful and value for money.

A decent and quiet place to stay ”
A reasonably decent place to stay for your business trips to Naypyidaw. Pro: good promo price, friendly helpful staff, bike rentals. Con: same as many other hotels in this Myanmar capital, not much happenings in/around it. Tip (weird fact): all "standard rooms" have shower and toilet rooms built separately (at end of hallway) which are accessible only by guests' room keys. Be sure to choose "Superior" rooms if this hostel style concept is not for you. (You may also upgrade at the hotel subject to availability.)

Really nice place and staff.”
I had a really good time here. The staff were superfriendly and also helped me with motorbike rental, which is a must in this gigantic city. Very nice and located among the other hotels in the hotel zone, not too far from a shopping centre . Recommend! :-)

Satisfactory”
This is among the cheapest hotel options in Naypyitaw. The shower room and toilet are separate, far away from the room, which is not convenient. The staff drove me back to the building where my room is. I think this funny. It feels like touring a garden. The transport in the city is not so convenient so daily car rental is recommended. But this is not cheap.

It's just fine ”
Great budget hotel. Very quirky (Maoist bathroom / toilet set up - the opposite to ensuite) but all part of the fun. Really enjoyed my stay but this city is a one day wonder only. Don't forget to hike a 125 motorbike at reception. K4000 per hour but well worth it.

Cheap, very good breakfast, expensive scooter”
Everything is far apart in Naypyitaw. The scooter rental was with 4000MMK/hour VERY expensive, but still cheaper than taking taxis everywhere. Room was fine. Food above average price.

Very good”
Clean and nice hotel, with a great breakfast buffet. There was almost nobody in this huge hotel which was kind of cool. What we didn't like was that a scooter costs 4000 Kyat per hour (highest price we've seen any where in Myanmar), not even including gas! That's just ridiculous, because you are in the middle of nowhere and can'tget any where by foot. Taxis from the hotel are also very expensive. 17000 to get to a trainstation! We arranged for transport with a TukTuk to bring us to a trainstation by our selves which saved us 11000 Kyat..

Staff no english and unofficial taxi arranging”
The staff doesn’t speak english at all. Questions about anything cannot be answered. We asked them to arrange a taxi to the bus station. They got us an unofficial taxi driver who claimed the price was almost double the price which was listed in the hotel. This was when we were driving for 5 minutes. He got aggressive and threatened us after we paid the normal price instead of his higher price. At the end he tore the money apart. What kind of a hotel calls this kind of taxi driver to bring their guests??? Unacceptable. The hotel was nice however and good value for money (at least the cheapest of the rooms, which we had).

Clean”
Due to it's cleanliness I would recommend this hotel to a friend. However, I was surprised to find there is no attached toilet. You have to walk about 20 steps out of your room to an area - left row was all the WC and right row all the Baths. You have to open the toilet using a key according to your room number. Breakfast was good.

You may as well go here”
It’s a weird city so you may as well go to a weird hotel too. It’s the cheapest after all. Good buggy to hotel funny at first but tiresome after a while trying to get them to pick you up. Scooter rental super expensive so is laundry. Don’t do laundry here. Toilets full of mosquitos very unpleasant
