Relaxing spot”
I stayed in the Hill Lodge for two nights as I was visiting the Green Hills Valley Elephant Care Centre. The staff were very pleasant and friendly and it was a calm environment up in the hills. The room was very comfortable and the evening cocktail on the terrace was a nice touch.

Beautiful surroundings and lovely stay”
The hotel is in the most beautiful location, and the walk around the grounds is wonderful. Kind friendly staff. And really, better than the photos / website even suggest! It is quite a drive from town, which can’t be ignored, but the hotel were helpful with a lift, and our trekkingcompany picked us up - so in the end it was no problem at all.

Nice hotel but foreigner rates are not cool”
My visit here was overshadowed by the tendency of the hotel to charge foreigners separate, considerably higher rates. There are several ways that they do this. First, the room rates are higher for foreigners if you book through the hotel directly. The price jumps up by 20-30% for foreigners. Be careful. Do not book rooms directly through the hotel itself. Second, they provide a shuttle service to different locations around the Kalaw area. However, if a foreigner is in the car, the shuttle service price magically increases by 30-40%. I inquired to hotel staff as to why prices were drastically higher for foreigners. They struggled to provide any justification for the massively higher prices. Their reasons essentially boiled down to: "We feel more responsible for foreigners, so we need to charge more." It's a nonsense explanation. Overall, the hotel is nice. The facilities are quite good. But be warned that if you are a non-Myanmar citizen you will be charged huge premiums simply for being a foreigner. Overall, I wouldn't recommend foreigners visit this hotel unless they change their pricing scheme.

Beautiful grounds, very nice rooms”
I enjoyed my 2 day stay here a lot. The rooms are very nice, with luxurious touches. The property is beautiful and I had some very good massages at the spa. It is a bit far from town so can get stuck on the property for meals, and I found the food in the restaurant just okay, and I actually got a bit sick on the second day (I had only eaten here so pretty sure it was from the restaurant). Restaurant and spa staff are extremely nice. My only other complaint is about the front desk staff: I twice emailed ahead of time to arrange a taxi pickup but they never responded. When I arrived the woman rudely said I didn't have a reservation there and I should go to a different hotel, even though I showed her the pre-booking/paid email from Agoda. It got sorted after they made some phone calls, but it was a very awkward and ungracious welcome. Later the same woman told me a taxi to downtown Kalaw was 15,000 kyat, no negotiation. I ended up hiring a taxi from elsewhere for 5,000 kyat, which is already quite high for a 10 minute drive. But besides the front desk staff needing some more hospitality training, I really enjoyed relaxing here and would probably stay again.

An amazing find”
I stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting the elephants at Green Hill Valley. The whole experience was wonderful. The only slight drawback is the distance from Heho airport to the hotel and then from the hotel to the elephants but having said that it is impossible to find out exact distances in advance and this did not cause me any inconvenience apart from a couple of long taxi rides. A small price to pay. The hotel staff are lovely and the service is amazing. I loved staying here. It was brand new in October 2015 and so everything is pristine.

Hotel situé à 5km du centre ville, dans un lieu isolé,avec belle vue sur les monts Shan. Le niveau de confort est bon, les chambres et la sdb spacieuses et bien aménagées . Le restaurant pourrait être mieux organisé et plus chaleureux. La nourriture y est correcte . Le personnel est très sympathique MAIS...manque de formation !! Une direction plus présente serait bienvenue !!

カローの町から少し距離があり、大丈夫かなぁ？と不安になりました。 ・・・が！全くの杞憂でした！ ホテルスタッフが皆、素晴らしく親切。 まだ、オープン6ヶ月？とのことで、たどたどしい方もいましたが、一生懸命なのが伝わり、こちらも嬉しい。 また、ホテルの考え方も素晴らしく、周りの小さい村から70パーセントの雇用をして、英語を教育して、という人的な面、また、広大な土地でオーガニック野菜や、動物もたくさんいて、自然と調和した感じが良い。 そしてその眺めも緑いっぱいで素晴らしい！ 近隣のトレッキングも希望に合うようアレンジしてくれて、めっちゃ楽しいですよ！ 次はインレーまでの二泊三日トレッキングにも行ってみたい。 是非また行きたいホテルです。 おすすめしますよ！
