Honestly the best location, MRT is right at your doorsteps, with Maxwell and food complex right nextdoor! If you connect using TEL brown line, you can jump to Gardens by the Bay, Orchard Road, even take the green line to the hotel. The hotel supplies free water and snacks, even beer and soda in the fridge. Water pressure and temperature is great, beds are Super comfortable! I'm a side sleeper and even though the bed felt firm, I slept well! Pillows and comforter also very comfortable! Air conditioner works great. Maybe the hall ways look a little bit old? But that doesn't matter to me... I'm not trying to stay at a Ritz Carlton 🤣

It's all dependant on your room! ”
We booked an executive balcony room as a treat back in June. Overall we were very disappointed with it. We were given room 306 which, as we discovered when passing similar rooms being cleaned, was quite a lot smaller than comparable rooms. This is due to room 306 being at the end of the block and therefore due to the shape of the hotel, it loses a few feet a it narrows on one side. Not only did this compromise space in both our bedroom AND bathroom but it made the balcony quite small and the room quite dark compared to our neighbour who had a brighter, larger space complete with pretty potted plant which ours didn't have room for. The balcony chairs were not as nice either and I was quite annoyed to lean over the balcony to find a pile of old cigarette ends and an empty cigarette packet on the ledge. Considering it's a non-smoking hotel this rule has clearly been flouted but more annoying is that the mess had been missed consistently. At some stage our balcony walls had been painted but whoever did so decided not to complete the job as the pillar was half white and half grey and it looked awful. Little things like this matter when you are paying over £150 a night and the fact that it came with a free mini-bar didn't really make up for the short-comings of the room, not to mention that outside the door is the stairs to the jacuzzi which was being refurbished and we were awoken in the night by someone banging loudly on the metal stairs. I'm not sure how many balcony rooms have a view but a good number of them are on a side street which overlooks a multi-storey car park. This kind of renders the balcony itself a bit pointless in our opinion. We were only there four nights and on one day we had to remind reception to get our room cleaned as it had been forgotten. On the plus side the staff were friendly and I showed Nazir the picture of the cigarettes and he appeared to be mortified so I hope this is addressed before the next guests! Great location, very close to Chinatown and MRT station, and 15-20 mins walk to the Marina Bay and Boat Quay. Staff were really lovely. Everything was clean, and the well-stocked mini-bar was complementary! Some (minor) negatives: our room was quite compact, didn't have a window, wasn't very well lit, and didn't have many places to hang towels (which is only a problem if you want to reuse them and need them to dry well. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

Special boutique hotel in a convenient location for sight-seeing. The free mini-bar was a major asset, and it was fully replenished every day. The bed was soft and very comfortable, and both the shower and the bathtub were large with great water pressure. Room service would have been nice, but I particularly enjoyed the Keto café on the first floor of the hotel, however they told us they would be moving to a new location soon.

We stayed at The Scarlet for 6 nights and were very happy with our choice. The beds were comfortable, the pillows were great and our room was the perfect size and well laid out for 2 singles to stay without feeling cramped. The bathroom was spacious and the toiletries were good quality. I particularly liked the minibar that was restocked daily, and the staff who were very attentive and friendly.
