"We thought we had booked a Tel Aviv hotel in the Leonardo Suite by the Beach Bat Yam, but found Bat Yam was 6 kms from Tel Aviv centre, this was not a problem until you book a tour as we did , to Masada then we found we were picked up first at our hotel then dropped off last which added a lot of time spent in the mini bus. Getting to the hotel from Ben Gurion airport was fraught with not having a straight forward shuttle service to Bat Yam, it only serves central Tel Aviv hotels, there are plenty people offering "taxi sir ? " in the arrivals hall, ignore them and go down to ground level, outside there is the official "despatchers" in a high viz jacket at a controlled point who will tell you the cost of your taxi and any additions for cases, for us it worked out at 120 Shekels plus two cases at 4 shekels each. total of 128 to hotel in Bat Yam. It was worth it for the stress relief. Thereafter we used buses and trains to get around which hotel staff were happy to help with. "
