"Very pleasant, restful and refreshing. Started four years ago. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and easy. Dutch hospitality from the owner, his lovely Cambodian companion and his two sons. People are friendly and helpful, but leave you alone when you are not in the mood for social talk. The high-ceilinged room was basic but good (room cleaned and bed made / fresh towels every day), with wooden floor and solid furniture. The big bed was comfortable. An indoor (working) table and chair would be an extra asset. However, it was good working in the big TV-room (huge flatscreen, lots of dvd's to choose from) with open doors. The bathroom is big and well-provided. The (electric) shower, however, could use a check-up. The wifi is excellent, both in the rooms and the public places. Also the airco functions well. The upholstery in the public places could use an update here and there. I rented a scooter to have a look at Kampot town (10 minutes away) and a kayak to experience the stillness and beauty of the wide river. They make good cocktails - and excellent French fries, the best I tasted in Cambodia! I had a few interesting talks from the heart with Hans and enjoyed the silent caring. Thank you for building this lovely place. I spent three very pleasant days with you. "

"Loved this place. Although we generally prefer older, more characterful options, this might just change our minds. The location on the river is wonderful, with great views of Kampot and a very welcome gentle breeze. It’s an easy walk in to the old town. The pool area is fab. We stayed in a deluxe riverside room with a tranquil balcony and enormous picture windows, (even from the loo!) Everything is tip-top quality- the fluffiest towels in Cambodia I’m sure. The whole site has been thoughtfully planted with bougainvillea, palms and cactus gardens, which will be stunning when it’s had time to mature. A great find."

"excellent location and amenities. lovely relaxing stay. hotel staff worked very hard to make our every request come true. the only negatives where the lack of hot water and low water pressure for bath and shower.tv and wifi were not strong, but we were in a very rural location. the dinner service was very slow, so plan a couple hours for your meals, but worth the wait because the food was excellent. if planning to go to kampot for dinner, the cost was $30 round trip for a driver which was expensive for cambodia. tuk tuks are not readily available in this remote area. close to kep, rabbit island and bokor mtn for day trips - highly recommend!"
