Amazing place to stay in Kalaw ”
This is a great place to stay in Kalaw. I started each day with a charming and filling breakfast with unlimited coffee. All the staff is very friendly and they were kind enough to do my laundry right when I arrived. I know most people just stay here on their way to inle but kalaw is a very cute town worth exploring. The owner prepared a very good guide which you are provided with when you check in. I did all of the independent walks he recommends solo and I highly recommend them. The walk around town was inspiring and the day treks to nearby villages will forever be imprinted in my mind. Oh, also don’t miss the market! I was the only tourist there and it was a colorful sight!

recommend this hotel”
Pros - delicious breakfast, especially banana pancakes - warm and cozy interior - kind worker Cons - quite far from the downtown (though Kalaw is small town so it only takes 20 minutes on foot. However, the way might be really hard if it rains.) - The day I stayed, the rain poured heavily all night, and it sounds like I’m in the shower booth all night long. - There was several dead black fruit flies on my pillow, when I arrived. But overall, I really liked this place. For one night before trekking, it might be perfect choice for you.

Highly recommend”
A lovely garden to hangout before going to trek. The staff is very nice. It is the best breakfast we had in 4 months of travel. The room and the bathroom are clean.

Fantastic place”
I arrived in Kalaw on the overnight bus and although it was fully booked the staff did everything they could to make me comfortable and get me checked in quickly. The location is great, really relaxing underneath the hills but still easily walkable to the center of town. The staff were really friendly and I enjoyed the breakfasts (particularly the banana bread). If I had more time I would have stayed longer because this is a great place to relax.

Everything was very good, we arrived at 2 am and they let us stayed that night with no charge. The only con is that is aprox. 20 min away walking from the town.

Perfect hotel with a very good breakfast. There were no more rooms available in Thitaw II so we got a free upgrade in Thitaw Lay that was exceptional

Pretty location and dedicated staff”
We met Mohindra who told us the story of the hotel and gave very useful advice on activities and surroundings. He is a very nice person who is dedicated to the hotel and its guests. The breakfast is delicious (with home made banana bread/cake and jam!!), also the bread is much tastier than elsewhere :) The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful garden... We wish Mohindra all the best and many more visitors in the future!

Quiet and just out of town. Helpful staff. Lots of power outages”
This place is just out of the town so it's quiet and more amongst nature. Staff there are very helpful and the room is clean. There were frequent power outages when I was there (think they were temporary) and combined with the timing of when hot water was available meant that I had to time my showers carefully.

A little paradise in Kalaw”
We could simply not leave this place! We initially booked one night and ended up staying for a total of four. Thitaw II is located about a kilometer out of town, a nice 15 to 20 minutes walk to Kalaw center, so it offers a nice, calm and serene atmosphere. Surrounded by nature, Mark and his lovely team make sure you feel right at home with delicious home cooked breakfast every morning and helpful tips. If you don't feel like going out for food, they'll have it ordered for you. All in all, a lovely and oh so comfortable place to stay in Kalaw.

Pleasant enough stay one night. ”
Quite expensive for what you get compared with other hotels we have stayed in, in Myanmar. Nice setting up the hill, but would suggest a taxi once getting off the bus if you have heavy bags. Pleasant French owner who greeted us. Nice breakfast. The plumbing in the rooms is very very noisy in the morning so beware. We stayed in room 5 and I was awake very early with the constant noise and the room was quite cold. Good hook for mozzie net.

One of the nicest places we have stayed in 6 months of travelling!”
We booked a last minute double room for a discounted price, and on arrival we were greeted by the owner who gave us a free upgrade to their family room. We were so lucky! The room was beautiful and enormous, we have stayed in a nicer room than this in 6 months of travelling. The staff were really friendly and clearly good at their jobs. The gardens were immaculately kept and the whole place was very clean. Every morning we were given a free breakfast of homemade bread (cooked on their outdoor wood burner), homemade banana bread, either a fried egg or slice of cheese, some vegetable fried rice, homemade seasonal jam, real butter and a couple of hot drinks. This is what a breakfast should look like! The owner is a European chap who knows about trekking in the local area, and he has prepared a very handy printout detailing all the walks from the guesthouse. No need for a guide at all. Location is a bit further out of town, but if you like peace and quiet then this is the place.

FANTASTIC!”
This was our favorite guesthouse we tried in ALL of Myanmar. Marc, the owner, is from Belgium & he is very accomodating and gives a very clear & helpful tour when you arrive. The place is well-built, well-designed, clean, & lovely. Location is up towards the hill, out of the main town, but that was wonderful for us as there's hiking right outside and a beautiful view of the stars from your balcony. Breakfast is HUGE & delicious, laundry is the cheapest in ALL of Myanmar... Rooms are comfy with lots of plugs, helpful shelves & hooks, WARM & QUALITY beds. Bottom line: FANTASTIC GUESTHOUSE. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG!!

Would've loved to stay longer”
The Thitaw II is located right to the Thitaw Lay. We loved our stay there and are sad, that we only spent one night. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was more than sufficient and of great quality. The room we stayed in was not the biggest, but very clean and comfortable. So was the bathroom. All in all I can fully recommend this hotel!
