I can recomend this place to people who want to go to bars around the mission district. Place is small but nice. Don't be afraid of the homeless people in San Fran they are really harmless. They dont talk to you.

Cheap for SF; Undesirable area”
The area is not for the timid. Just a few steps away from the 16th St BART station, you will walk through the darker side of humanity to get to this hotel. It is a clean, basic 2 star hotel. I’ve seen other reviews and quite frankly, if you go for the cheapest rate and expect 5 star accommodations your are going to be sorely disappointed. This is a 2 star, be prepared. I had a tiny room with a bed, nightstand, tv, and sink. Bathroom and shower down the hall. You get what you pay for here. They also rent by the month. All of that being said, I had no problem staying there. The area is where all of the homeless have been pushed to and it shows. One block over though and you have a completely different vibe with a vibrant night life. I was just there for one night to see a show at The Chapel which was only a 5 minute walk away. I probably wouldn’t stay here again for more than a night. But if you need something cheapish and clean in the Mission, this is it.

Very small, easy to miss entrance, but as you stay you'll begin to recognize the doors and walls that are next to the main door. Mustard yellow gate with a little doorbell that's lit up slightly. A lot of people seem to be afraid of the location as 16th and mission is on the rougher side of the neighborhood... AT NIGHT. During the daytime, it's just any other street, many different personalities and character intertwine around this area. Quite nice actually. As usual, don't be absent minded, keep your belongings close to yourself, and don't look afraid. I would say around 5-7 is when the atmosphere truly changes as the homeless and other ppl start loitering. I wouldn't say it's ideal, but keep your head straight and know where you're going and no one will bother you. Amenities are bare but do the job. I'd recommend bringing hangers to put your clothes and towel on when you go to the shower. Housekeeping, new towels and sheets every day. Room is comfortably big for 2 ppl with luggage.

Hotel (more like a hostel) in one of the worst areas of San Francisco. ”
Before booking this hotel, I read reviews online which seemed fairly decent. However, upon arrival we walked past 20+ homelesses and people selling drugs on the strees immediately outside the hotel. The area itself also looked very rough and was very unclean. Despite this, the receptionist could tell us ‘that this area is very safe and that the rough parts of San Francisco were far away’. But a local confirmed to us the next day that we were indeed staying in the worst area of San Francisco and to make sure that we were careful and aware of our surroundings. Needless to say that we felt very unsafe. The pictures on the website are lying too. This is not a hotel but a hostel. There were no toilet/bathroom or shower in the room. This was all communal further down the corridor and 20+ people had to share 2 toilets and 1 shower. The room was extremely small, dirty and had a funny/damp smell. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.

Great location as it is near the BART station. Sorrounding area may be a little uncomfortable at night due to homeless people at the streets. A good hotel to stay for a day or two.

good for the price but location is not”
The owners are really lovely, helpful and friendly. The location, was scary for me, a solo female traveler. There are lots of homeless in front of the property and the street side smelled unpleasant. The property is clean, good size of room and the sink in the room is defo a plus. Thin walls weren't great though but I guess you get what you pay for.

No elevator here. So if you have big suitcase like me, you’d probably have to carry it up to fourth floor. Other than that, the room is small and soundproof isn’t that good.

I called to mention I'll be a bit late for the checkout by approx half an hour, since the checkout timing was officially at 11am. I reached back the hotel ard 1135am, and the staff were already clearing the room with all our belonging jam packed into our various luggages. furthermore one of our luggages had it's zip broken, and we were in a fluster to pack all our stuff. understand there is a checkout time. but its really quite unreasonable to start clearing within 5 mins of not being back on time. will highly not recommend despite its good location.

We are sorry you were not satisfied with your stay. As said, check-out time was at 11am, a small window was given as they called they will be late. The staff waited but they still not arrived when they said they would and a call was given to them and no one answer. As we needed to get the room ready for the next customer, the belonging were been pack with the most care and there was no broken zipper when the packing was done by the staff.
