The owner of the hotel is a doctor who speaks good English. The hotel is far from Lake Inle, but at least that meant that there were available rooms.
The hotel has similar name to the other hotel which is View Point Lodge at Taik Nan Bridge & Canal, Inle Lake which is at the canal in Nyaung Shwe town. I booked the hotel thinking that it is near to Taunggyi as I was taking an overnight bus from Mandalay to Taunggyi only to realize that this hotel which is in Aungban is about 45 min away from the lake and 1 hour away from Taunggyi. I just saw the other reviewer has to pay USD40 to get from Heho airport to Aungban town. It is a good place to stay if you plan to visit Pindaya and surround mountain area, the stretch between Aungban and Pindaya is very scenic, passing farms and villages of the Danu and Pa-O. I ended up to let the hotel forfeit what I have paid for the night and instead has to book in to the at Nyaung Shwe town which I fill is convienient place to stay if to visit the lake as there are many boat that brings you for the day trip to cover most of the sites surrounding the day itself.
We booked knowing it was not on the lake but thinking it was near. It is 90 minutes from Lake Inle which is a $30 taxi ride.The town it is in is dead. We booked and paid for 3 nights and stayed 1 . The hotel is relatively expensive as all Myanmar hotels seem to be. It was not dirty but the room was grubby. The manager spoke some English and tried to be very helpful. He was a nice man but knew it was a bad location and clearly had had previous requests for cancellations and knew the owner would not agree.
this hotel is the only foreigner-focused hotel in aungban, a local non-touristy town at the intersection of the roads between kalau, pindaya, and nyaung shwe (the gateway to inle lake). it is about 40 minutes to get to nyaung shwe and 1.5 hours to get to pindaya. the hotel is not yet up to the standards of foreign-class hotels, but the owner is working on it. the best part of our stay was walking around a "real" myanmar town that wasn't already set up for tourists. as americans, we were a unique commodity there, and we enjoyed the "free smiles" we got from the locals.

“Hotel OK, but terrible staff”
The hotel itself is quite acceptable; the location is pretty good. The inconvenient is that it's located just at the town's main crossroad, hence a lot of traffic noise. Rooms are OK for the price; not super clean, not super well-equipped, but this is the standard 15-20 $ Myanmar hotel room outside of touristic areas. The main disappointment for me was the staff attitude: the ladies at the reception are most unfriendly. They even blame you for booking on Agoda, implying you're just stingy. If so, why did you put your property on Agoda? Asking them an extra blanket or clean towels also exposes you to nasty looks, and it is rather unpleasant. I will probably not stay there next time!
