A wonderful place to stay!”
We stayed at Wai Wai’s Place on two separate visits to Yangon earlier this moth and cannot recommend this wonderful guesthouse enough!! The guesthouse is located about twenty minutes from the city centre, but in a really interesting part of town. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable and better than many other places in a similar price range. What really makes Wai Wai’s stand out though is the exceptional service by the absolutely wonderful staff and the incredibly good food available in the gorgeous, breezy rooftop restaurant, where a complimentary breakfast is also served to guests each morning. The food is SO good. We’ve been travelling around Myanmar for three weeks and have had great food everywhere we’ve been, but Wai’s Wai’s Place stands out. The Shan noodles are to-die-for and the tea leaf salad is one of the best we’ve had anywhere. Wai Wai herself is one of the most beautiful, genuine and generous people you could ever hope to meet. She helped us so much in planning

Nice place to experience Yangon”
Clean, comfortable rooms. Staff is very pleasant, obliging and helpful. Each room has its own assigned bathroom, but not in the room. The bathrooms are in one area on each floor. A/C worked really well! Food was delicious, and authentic! They can call a cab for you and get the best rate possible. Shwedagon Paya is a 20- minute walk away, and Central Yangon is 30 minutes in foot. Taxis are cheap if you want to use them. The floors in the hallway are so clean; they look like glass. WiFi works quite well. No TV in rooms.

amazing customer service”
My friend and I found the customer service to be exceptional. We had accidentally booked a double bed, and they were able to switch us into a twin room. Seems minor, but I'm quite sure the twin room ended up being a "free upgrade". We were also leaving Yangon on a night bus, and hoped we could have a late checkout. We had gone down to inquire, simply asked "what time is checkout?", and the response was basically telling us regular checkout out time and "you can stay late if you want, no problem".. They let us check out at 7pm! I'm sure this can't be accommodated when the hotel is booked, but it was just a reflection of the great customer service. Another bonus is the rooftop restaurant. It was easily the best food we had in Myanmar. It has such a lovely atmosphere, and seems to be frequented by expats and those working in Myanmar. I'm a vegan, and there were tons of options, or adjustments that could be made to give me a large selection of food.

Comfortable and clean place with amazing satff”
Amazing place to stay, very clean and comfortable, great value for money, the breakfast is amazing and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The place has a restaurant in the rooftop were the breakfast is served. The food is really good and reasonably priced the only downside is that is located in the fifth floor with no lift available. Overall we had an amazing stay and would definitely return.

Very pleasant stay in Yangon”
Wai Wai’s place made me feel very welcome from the moment I arrived. The location was excellent with downtown only a short Grab taxi ride away, which never cost more than two dollars. Also there were lots of market stalls selling food and other good items and if you wanted upmarket restaurants they were only a five minute walk away. The two best things though were the Shan Noodle Salad and the rooftop restaurant/ bar.... best place to read a book and have a beer. I thoroughly recommend Wai Wai’s and will be staying next time I’m in Yangon

Lovely stay!”
We had a wonderful stay at Wai Wai’s place. We arrived very early after a night bus and we were able to store our luggage and enjoy the sunrise and a coffee on the beautiful roof deck. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The location was wonderful - quiet and a bit out of the center, but in a really nice neighborhood with some markets. Will absolutely stay again next time in Yangon. Thank you!!

Excellent Hotel”
This hotel was perfect. It is in the heart of the city. Within walking distance of some attractions. Taxi on same street. The hotel room was very clean and so was th bed. Lovely family run hotel where nothing was to much trouble.

Amazing Staff”
As the title suggests I highly appreciate the staff. They care about the guests a lot and it is simply such a familiar atmosphere. Another highlight is the rooftop-restaurant where you have breakfast and can eat for dinner. By the way it's great for Vegans and Vegetarians and people speak English. :)

Excellent”
The restaurant is unbelievably good and we ate there most of the time. We booked a room with an external private bathroom which was totally fine. Our room did have a window but it was facing the building next door and therefore there was no natural light coming in and gave the room a cave like feel. There are other rooms with day light and we would make sure to book one of those next time. This is the only thing we didn't like about our stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Good for a night”
Small room, nothing special but ok for one night. Nice neighborhood with market in the morning. Really good food at the rooftop restaurant!

Good value for money”
This is our second stay at Wai Wai's. The room had a window facing the street and had a big bed. AC in one room was leaking and wasn't strong in the other room, but the problem was fixed after we informed the staff about the issue. The highlight of Wai Wai's is the in-house Restaurant. We recommend staying here and would be back if we travel to Yangon again.

Room - just ok. Food - amazing ”
The room was basic and had dirty sheets when we arrived. The bed was filthy underneath too. The shower is directly over the toilet but that seems to be the way in a lot of Burmese hotels. The rooftop bar/breakfast made up for it. Amazing Shan noodles!

Not bad but...”
For similar prices you can find better hotels in the neighborhood. It was noisy and a bit scary at night because of a dozen of dogs barking together. A bit earlier, kids were playing football on the 1st floor.

Wai Wai... Wonderful!”
This was my second time staying at Wai Wai's Place and if I have the chance, it won't be the last. While I was staying there with my family I noticed other return guests and this is contributed to the outstanding service provided. Wai Wai is an amazing host and is always happy to have a chat about anything really. She answered any questions we had and made sure her nephew took us to good local eats and orientated us to the area. When I asked to pay for laundry she made sure it was completed free of charge... that's unheard of. The balcony, with fruit, tea and coffee always available, is a nice setting to relax and wind down after a busy day in the city. Taxis were arranged for drop off to the airport and Wai Wai made sure the fair fare was paid (no tourist trap here). Leaving at 5am? No problem, there will be breakfast waiting for you before you go. Okay it's not in the city centre (but it's nice to get away) and can be challenging for taxis to find but have her phone number on hand and she will guide the driver. Be adventurous and take the train into the city while you're there, the station is only a walk from the accom. The train was a memorable experience and a real feel for Yangon life. I can't fault Wai Wai's Place and can only hope to repay the hospitality one day. Thanks very much :)

An oasis in the hustle and bustle of Yangon”
Wai Wai's place is a little oasis of calm slightly out of the centre of Yangon. Although not quite so central it is easy to get taxis and Wai Wai and her staff can organise them for you - we actually enjoyed being in a less touristy part of the city. The pleasant and cool verandah where breakfast is served is a very pleasant place to sit and chat to other guests if you wish. On our last morning we had a very early start for the airport and Wai Wai packed us a delicious picnic breakfast. The rooms are spacious and clean and for the price I couldn't find fault with Wai Wai's place.

Beautiful, comfortable home stay, friendly staff with an amazing owner! ”
Wai Wai's place surpassed my expectations. It is clean, beautifully furnished and thoughtfully kept with traditional interior decorations. It inspired me to design my new home in the very same way! The owner, Ms. Wai Wai herself is friendly, kind and incredibly helpful when it came to all the things I needed, especially with getting around Yangon. The food at the restaurant at the homestay is delicious, healthy and her staff are all friendly, it makes it very difficult to leave the homestay. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that is looking for a clean, neat, value for money place to stay during their time in Yangon, as it is conveniently located near Dagon Center and accessible to public transport. Thank you again, Wai Wai and your staff for sharing this experience with me!

A home away from home - Friendly and welcoming! ”
Wai Wai's Bed and Breakfast Inn truly is one of the best and most warm and welcoming places I've stayed in, anywhere. It is complete value for money (and more in my opinion). Wai Wai will go above and beyond to provide you with what you need and make you feel safe and taken care of, always with a smile on her face. Her Shan Noodles will make you addicted! The location is a bit outside of the centre, but I thought that was a positive thing. Plenty of places to eat close by, and Wai Wai will always try to help you make the best out of your trip. All you need to do is ask! I stayed in the 5-bed dorm and it was always clean, with very comfortable beds and friendly faces around. Wai Wai's is the place to be!
