Yangon Airport hotels & places to stay

We had a very short stay of a couple of hours as we were flying back home. Room was very clean and the hotel itself also. Its around 10 minutes drive from the airport. We had a few issues with the hotel staff. There was smoke inside the hotel , probably someone was smoking inside. In our hotel booking with agoda it was written " including drop-off to the yangon airport" . But on arrival hotel staff refused to give this service and blamed agoda.

The place is just near the airport, which is very comfortable for an overnight stay. The staffs are very good in speaking English that's why it's very easy to communicate with. The AC in the room was very good. There's a free soap, shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste, and disposable toothbrush, and coffee mix. Also with a free bottled water, and free to use hair dryer, electric kettle, and water glasses. And with free breakfast at 6am. The only thing that I can give 5-out of-10 is the bathroom, for me even though its clean, it still look a little bit dirty like a public restroom. But overall I was very satisfied and for sure comeback to stay here in my next visit in Yangon.

I stayed here cause I arrive late at night in Yangon and leaving very early to catch my flight to another city. They provide a ride between the hotel and the airport from (very) early in the morning to late at night, which was exactly what I needed. The hotel itself is more like a house of your relatives, but overall clean and acceptable. You can see how hard they are trying to make us feel comfortable. They even prepared me breakfast on 4AM. The master speaks English, so it's quite easy to get some travel tips before you travel forward. I'm not sure if it's a good stay for Yangon-travelers, but I'm sure it's a place for travellers who need a bed to sleep until their next day flight.

This hotel should not be rated with 1 🌟. My previous accommodation was at a 3 🌟 hotel and it was awful. Bad smell not clean. But the room that I ve stayed at Yangon airport Inn was clean and very big,with window and very big bathroom with new tiles and very clean. It's in a walking distance from the airport, so I would definitely recommend it for a short stay. Very convenient. Don't expect any fancy breakfast. They shouldn't even provide any, with the price that they charge!! Travelers ,don't hesitate to book that hotel !!!

We were positively surprised by this one. Originally, we were only looking for a hotel close to the airport, as we were leaving the next day. But this hotel was more than that. The staff was very nice and attentive and from the first moment on we felt very good about our choice. The room was big, clean, had a very nice bathroom and a comfortable bed. There's a pool that was clean and perfect for a quick refreshing dip. Our flight was leaving early in the morning, but still we got breakfast and a free transfer to the airport! If you're looking for an airport hotel in Yangon don't look further, this is your spot!

This hotel is only less than 4 km from Yangon airport and immediately out from downtown area. It takes 30 minutes by taxi to reach the center of Yangon and 10 minutes to reach the airport. The room was comfortable but the floor was very dirty, as if no one has washed it...All the rest instead was good: clean bed sheets and clean towels, clean room in general, except for the floor. We went to the restaurant for dinner and lunch, and the food was good and fresh. Staff very friendly and always smiling!

We stayed there for 1 night as we didn't want to take a risk with possible plane delays during the festive season. We had wanted a room near the swimming pool but unfortunately we were not allowed the option of adding an extra bed, so we booked the long stay suite instead. The room was rather far from the pool but albeit a quieter area. I had a bit of trouble with the unconventional tap in the shower and almost scaled myself in the process of figuring it out. The breakfast is ok, good spread of Burmese cuisine but can be quite limited in its western offering. They do have an egg station where you can order freshly cooked eggs. I felt the room is expensive as it cost us almost 140USD for a one night stay. We had better rooms at cheaper rates during our Myanmar stay. The location does make up slightly for this. The hotel is just about 5 to 10 mins drive - depending on traffic) to Yangon Airport. We also did a short outing to the Ocean Hypermarket for some last minute shopping (taxi cost 2000K one way). The friendly reception staff will order the taxi for you and they can advise how much it will cost. When we checked out, the hotel put us on its own shuttle and gave us a free lift to the airport - that's a nice touch. Looking back, if I could re-plan my trip, I may booked this hotel on my first night in Yangon as it's near to some sight-seeing destinations (of course the price has to be more competitive first!).

After staying at many budget hotels, this hotel is by far the best for me and I highly recommend everyone to stay at this hotel. The proximity from and to the airport was indeed very short which saved our time in this crazy traffic. We sent an email to them first. They replied to us immediately with so many suggestions and advices. They suggested us to pay only 3000 to get to their hotel. The receptionists let us check in early. Staffs are very helpful and very attentive. Beautiful wooden floor, clean and spotless large room, big comfy bed and hot shower just made our stay perfect. Internet was better than many other places in town. English movie channels were available. Location is excellent with some few good restaurants, local teashops, a mini mart, ATMs and banks within walking distance. We had a nice dinner nearby where the receptionists recommended. They have with or without breakfast options. We chose a room with breakfast. The breakfast was fresh and good. We think $2 for buffet breakfast is a real bargain. Train station is just about few minutes away from this hotel. We took Yangon circular train to downtown to see how people live in Yangon. The staff negotiated the taxi driver to get a cheaper taxi fare for us to the Aung Mingalar bus station. All in all, we would recommend everyone to stay here and we are sure you will love it!

We stayed one night before leaving Myanmar by plane on early morning. The hotel is quite near to the airport and it was perfect to reach Yangon airport (only 15 min drive). We chose room + 2 free tranfert to airport, and it was very comfortable and good value option. The owner was very kind and the staff attentive: as we got up very early they provided us for an anricipated breakfast. The hotel is clean and everithing was ok. The city center is quite far but can be reached by train (200 kyats): there is a very near "circle line" station, a great experiencw to do as tourists in Yangon.

Staff were nice but did not understand English well. One small spray bottle of water was missing and adjustable cap was adjusted to smaller size (2 days). Hmmm? Reported to manager and it was to be checked but no response after reporting. Otherwise, rooms were clean and breakfast ample. Rooms closer to street noisier but others quiet. Good location close to airport, few restaurants and Ocean store (similar time a Walmart). For the price, it was great.

I stayed twice at the Sky Man Hotel. One stay I arrived around midnight and left 12 hours later; second stay I arrived at 5pm and left 6 hours later. Both stays were very similar. Room was well appointed for a low starred hotel. Amenities in the bathroom. Carpet, decent furniture, good TV, aircon worked. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. Brand new bathroom. Bed was standard Asian hard. Staff were helpful and friendly. Check in was un complicated. Check out only slightly complicated. It's 3 minutes (I timed it) by taxi to / from the airport. From the airport the taxi should only cost about 2000 khat - you may have to haggle as the official airport taxi tried to charge me 6000 (clearly silly, luckily I knew how close it was so just haggled with the unofficial ones). Breakfast is "interesting". Probably fine if you are Asian. As a Westerner I was happy to see the fried eggs. Less happy when I realised they were stone cold :( (But as an aside, that's very common in Burma as people eat with their hands and don't understand the attraction of hot food!). I stayed the second time after staying the first time. I guess that's the best recommendation you can have !

Completely as expected before arriving. I visit Yangon regularly for business purpose. The base rate of Hotel in Yangon has lifted up recently. At Stallion, I can say the price, the room and the staff all are as good as expected. One thing I likes to see that is internet of Hotel is quite good during my stay of 3 days. It did not knocked my down even 5', and surpise me with its fast connection. It takes less than 10' to reach the airport, again as my expect.

Royal Golden 9 Mile Hotel is located at the number one main road of Yangon, Pyay Road. It is close to the city center, but it keeps a suitable distance from the city center. You can enjoy the convenience of the good location and feel very relaxed since the hotel & location is country like.   All the staff are very friendly and helpful.   The hotel and guest rooms are bright with good lighting, which is different from a lot of DARK hotels in Yangon. Highly Recommended & Value for Money.

This hotel has really nice, spacious rooms that were clean and comfortable. I met the owner of the hotel who was really personable, helpful and eager to do his best. He offered to help get me to a local market to buy some souvenirs and even offered to help me purchase some items to help me get a better deal. I didn't end up going but still, he was very kind to offer. The day staff allowed me to stay in my room the next day for a small fee (10,000 kyat) since my flight was in the evening and I had nowhere to go. They also got me a cab to leave and arranged the price for me so I wouldn't get ripped off. Highly recommend if you have a late arrival or early departure and need to be close to the airport. It's a bit far the downtown attractions but for traveling needs, it's perfect.

The Holly Hotel was a full 5 stars for me. The staff was well prepared to handle a foreigner. Every staff member I spoke to could speak great English. They were super helpful, knowledgable and friendly. The room was very nice with comfortable beds, clean rooms, air conditioned and warm water in the bathroom. I ate dinner in the Thai restaurant downstairs and it was delicious. I only stayed one night so I cannot talk about the surroundings to the hotel. I simply took a taxi from the airport (about $4 for about a 10-15 minute taxi ride) stayed one night and then went back to the airport the next day. All it all, it was a wonderful hotel, a much needed rest and well worth the money. I'll be back on my next stay in Yangon.

The Yangon Airport Hotel is about 5 minutes from the airport and is the ideal location if you have early flights out or late flights in. This is exactly why we chose it. We arrive quite late and left early. The friendly staff were helpful and knew exactly where we should go for an evening meal, and how to get around and went out of there way to ensure we were comfortable. I think the key question is - would we stay again? Yes, especially for short visits to Yangon.

Hotel Yangon was a pleasent experience. The check in was easy and the staff spoke English well. While the buiding is rather old, it is not to run down. The room was big and clean. The restaurant on the top floor was very good and I enjoyed with some Myanmar friends who agreed that it was good. As with all hotels in Yangon, the price is more than it should be for what you get.

This airport hotel delivers sufficient rest and quiet rooms. The light of the lamps next to the bed is centrally controlled. There is no way to switch off the lamps unless there is a power trip. There were two power trips during the length of my stay. I slept for 3 to 4 hours before checking-out for an impromptu flight to Don Mueang from Yangon. The hotel is ideal for 6 hours to one night stay. Expect to pay 4 US Dollars for the cheapest lunch or dinner at the hotel's Chinese restaurant by cash (US Dollars, Kyat and RMB) or via China's WeChat. The staff is conversant in English and helpful. I will stay here again if I am on transit in Yangon.

Close to airport. Clean, good sized, comfortable rooms. Good views from floors 3 upwards. Nice helpful staff. Close 5 min ealk to Ocean shopping centre. Close 5 min walk to good restaurants. Good Massage nearby at 9th Hotel and across Pyay Rd from Ocean Centre. Cons: long way from downtown so need to go off peak. Nearest new large modern shopping centre is 5 or 6 km

My first impression on arriving at the hotel was that the actual structure did not do justice to the impression created by the pictures on the reservation site. It is a facility of modest size with a small pool and a bit of a garden. The rooms are new, have a "hardwood" floor. Housekeeping (twice a day!) is excellent, and service by the staff is excellent all around. Bathroom is typical Burmese, although the floor is sloped well to the drain to keep shower water from spreading to the rest of the bathroom floor if you pull the curtain around you. Toiletries are fine. There is a minibar and a security box in the room. My rooms also had balconies which are more enjoyable if you have a higher floor, but you should shut off the room A/C before you step out because the outside unit blows to the balcony space. The main negative about the place is the restaurant/room service menu prices. It is easily double what I found at the downtown hotel I stayed at even for standard things like canned beverages. I suppose that is for staying at a "RESORT." The breakfast buffet is nothing to write home about. They will make eggs to your preference, and you have few choices of mainly Asian items, plus bread, jam, butter, and basic fruit. But if you have to stay by Yangon airport, this is probably the best choice (I have stayed at three others).

My location rating for this hotel is based on using it for access to the airport, it is not convenient for Downtown Yangon. The hotel is situated in a quiet backwater off the busy Pyay Road in an area once used by the A1 Film Studios. You wake to birdsong and not traffic or aircraft noise. The Hotel is new and the aircon is very quiet and the beds comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they are also keen to practice their English so are quite chatty. It is a small hotel, I think only 12 rooms, and the owner likes it to be treated like a home with shoes not worn beyond the front door. Slightly irritating as you go in and out carrying stuff and you are not wearing slip on shoes like the locals. The dining facilities are one table in an area off reception or tables in the very nice garden. It was dry while we were there, but what happens when it rains and the hotel is busy? The hot water takes some time to arrive to the shower head (approx 5 minutes). In our room the hot supply to the shower was too restricted, the supply to the basin was much more powerful so it is a case of opening a valve somewhere and not due to other guests showering at the same time! The breakfast is really good. The evening meal was good. If you don't want to eat in there is a branch of Golden Duck (Shwe Bae) a short taxi ride to the South at the junction of Pyay Road and Kabar Aye Pagoda Road. Alternatively the North Point shopping mall with a range of eateries is a short taxi ride to the North on Pyay Road. The airport pick up and drop off went very smoothly and was good value at $5 each way. We will definitely use this hotel again when changing flights at Yangon.
